Jewelry Care
Here are some tips to help you keep your Metal Thief jewelry looking fresh:
Store your jewelry in a jewelry box, bag, or cloth to protect it from tarnishing (darkening) and scratching.
Avoid exposing jewelry to moisture and chemicals. Remove jewelry when bathing, swimming, exercising, and cleaning.
Apply perfume, lotion, makeup, or other body products before putting on jewelry.
Care instructions for bright sterling silver jewelry
Sterling silver jewelry naturally tarnishes over time. Wearing your jewelry regularly is one of the best ways to prevent tarnishing!
A standard jewelry polishing cloth will remove most tarnish from your bright sterling silver jewelry. You also clean it using a very soft toothbrush with warm water and mild dish soap. Rinse clean and pat dry with a soft cloth. Or you can use a commercial silver jewelry cleaner.
Care instructions for oxidized sterling silver jewelry
Oxidized sterling silver jewelry will brighten over time and lose some of it’s darkened finish, especially if your jewelry sees a lot of wear and tear.
Cleaning oxidized sterling silver jewelry is a little different than bright sterling silver. Most importantly, do not use a commercial silver jewelry cleaner as this can remove the dark finish. Instead, using warm water and a mild dish soap gently rub the jewelry between your fingers. Rinse clean and pat dry with a soft cloth.
